A Community, Family-focused Parish, not a School-based Parish.
Jesus did not start a school. Jesus was on the road out in the community preaching and healing. He walked up and down Israel meeting people along the way, helping them, and moving on.
Embleton Parish does not have a school. This is a positive aspect of the parish and not a negative. The Catholic school-needs of families for their children is well and truly met by the many nearby parishes with schools.
Embleton Parish is seeking to be a parish of the community and in the community serving people in the same way Jesus served by being out there as part of the community.
We strive to work cooperatively with the City of Bayswater, whose Office is nearby who also serve the citizen needs of people. We, for our part, are striving to serve the spiritual needs of all people, be they of faith or none. We seek to be just-like-Jesus in reaching out to others in sharing his love, his wisdom, and his joy.
We welcome children and families into the parish. We delight in the sounds of children in our services of worship. We want every generation represented in the parish from the elderly to the new-born.
Every one of us has a network of people whom we know. They are made up of these five categories: our family, friends, neighbours, acquaintances, and colleagues. Once you are a part of this parish and treasure the fact family and friends are welcome here, then reach out to your network and invite them to become part of the parish too for themselves.
We all need to remember this: We get to God together. We pilgrim better together.
As Jesus said, “Come and see.”
